ABOUT US
UniFinder is a new independent counselling service for domestic students in Australia and New Zealand.
Created by the Future Campus/Twig Marketing team, we established UniFinder after more than a decade of discussions.
In 2012, the Twig Marketing team conducted market research with 1,000 undergraduate students on Australian campuses and found that more than a third of men and almost 50% of women would not have chosen their degree if they had understood what it involved when they applied. Since then, we have conducted market research with thousands of secondary students and parents across Australia, with many people telling us that while huge amounts of information is available, clear independent advice on which course to choose was hard to find.
Our team has worked with around half of Australia’s universities and more than a dozen VET sector providers, looking at better ways to communicate their education offerings and improve recruitment processes.
At UniFinder we believe that choosing the right course is about a process of matchmaking, not selling. We want to understand your interests, any career goals and also what you don’t want to study. We can also talk about options with different study modes and locations, pathways, accommodation options and scholarship opportunities – helping to work out the right mix of course options for you.
The goal of the service is to provide independent support and advice from counsellors with extensive experience in higher education, helping you choose a course that suits your interests and map out tertiary education pathways that are tailored to your goals. We can explain career opportunities that arise from degrees, how to apply and also present you and your family with alternative course ideas that you might not have considered so far.
We pride ourselves on integrity and transparency and emphasise that we can’t guarantee course entry, but we can help you understand the range of pathways that can lead to a course, and can provide additional support in applying for your course if you want additional help (for an additional fee).
We partner with a range of organisations to bring you additional course ideas but won’t compromise our independence when it comes to advising you on course choices.
We don’t increase your chances of getting into a course, or guarantee entry. We simply provide clear advice on your course options and can provide extra assistance to apply for courses if you wish (additional fees apply).
We simply want to help students to choose the course that suits them.
